A Gift of Nature: Rare, Genuine White Samboya Tea.

White tea has been a favorite of tea connoisseurs for centuries and is sought after not simply because of its rarity, but its unique flavors and impressive range of health benefits.

For a listing of currently available white tea, visit our online store or your local retailer.

Taste: Infusing white tea is a delicate process. The buds, which are fresh and still in their original form, cannot be infused in boiling hot water. They would burn, causing a bitter aftertaste and lose all antioxidants inherent in white tea.

Allow the buds to soak three to five minutes in 170F water, and enjoy a very light, golden colored sweet brew of famous white tea.

Processing: Depending on the style produced, finishing details vary.  All of our leaves are processed by hand. White tea is unique from all others in that it is stricktly seasonal. Its leaves are processed differently from black or even green teas - white tea leaves never enter the oven. Their purity is evident in the final presentation, where each leaf is still connected to the soft, feathery bud of the plant. There is no white tea dust, so you will never find actual white tea in a tea bag filled with tea dust.

Classifications: White Tea leaves and buds are much larger than black or green tea. They truly resemble the original form of the tea leaf. They are decidedly more colorful, and all buds show the treasured fine white fuzzy hair typical of white tea.

Origins: Most of the worlds' tea is produced in China, India, and Sri Lanka.  Other areas such as Vietnam and Nepal are also known for interesting varieties.  Currently all Samboya tea originates from a very small area within Assam, which has favorable soil conditions, tea bushes of incredible quality, and processing methods that produce some of the worlds' most famed tea. All our teas are grown on private plantations, and hand picked for a premier harvest every season.
